A-10 Sensorhog:

With navigation lights that turn on at ‘night’, a front mounted minigun that spins at the push of a button, ailerons that articulate and simulate real flying action (responding to tilt), LCD display that reads out temperature and humidity data, this aircraft was worthy an an A+.

In all seriousness, this was my instrumentation and sensors class final project, which I had a lot of fun doing. The project requirements were to incorporate x number of sensors and x number of actuators into a ‘shoebox’ style project. I guess I took it airborne, and created a plane that harmonized these sensors as best I could.

This class emphasized simulating the circuit before building and testing, which is helpful sometimes, especially when working on teams where each member might not have access to the physical hardware all the time. Regardless, I think I made a feature-rich project here and continued gaining experience in programming / electronics / mechanical design.
